For a long time I struggled with procrastination, perfectionism, feeling overwhelmed with clutter, coping with anxiety, and more. I could never seem to put myself first. I now recognize the importance of structure and environment for changing and maintaining behaviour, and I want to help you do the same!
Behaviour change is difficult and complex. Some behaviours may take months or even years to master while others might only take a few days…and the same strategies don’t work for everyone. It often takes several tries to find an effective system, and maintaining that system is an ongoing process. It does get easier though! Often one change leads to many more, so even the smallest of changes can add up to huge benefits!
I have seen the benefits of committing to a system that works, making gradual changes over time, and facing challenges directly rather than trying to avoid them. I use the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis to provide an individualized approach that is guided by the most current research in the field of behaviour change. Some of the strategies I use include teaching effective scheduling, setting up cues/reminders, motivation, accountability, and reinforcement. I am committed to helping people achieve their goals and live their best lives by helping them focus on what is most important and setting up their environments for success.
My journey to becoming a R.H.N began with a life changing diagnosis of Hashimoto’s – an autoimmune disorder. Dissatisfied with my doctor’s recommendation to just take medication, I worked with a naturopath and began a long journey back to better health. I have since reversed my symptoms and been in remission for seven years! My health crisis motivated me more than ever to share with others the amazing power of food! Wanting to expand on my knowledge from school, I worked at a health food store to learn more about herbs and supplements. Working to help others achieve their health and nutrition goals brings me such joy and I want to share the gift of health with as many people as possible!
I know that change isn’t easy, I have been there. Working 60 hours per week while making time for shopping and cooking is an adjustment, but it is very possible! Changing your environment and daily routines can help you get the proper nourishment needed to heal the body and mind and provide you with the fuel to thrive! Using my unique and individualized approach to health and wellness I provide knowledge, accountability, guidance, and recommendations based on the best available research in the area of nutrition.
As a former varsity soccer athlete who has experienced too many injuries, I recognize the importance of manual therapy for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the maintenance of overall health. Countless misdiagnoses of one injury in particular and four years of pain, frustration, and an extreme sense of “feeling blue” sparked my interest in manual therapy. There was no way I wanted to let anyone experience the prolonged pain and discomfort that I had endured and so I began my pursuit of manual osteopathy.
In a clinic setting I use soft tissue release, joint mobilization, organ mobilization, and craniosacral therapy. Online, I teach soft tissue release techniques that you can do yourself; health tips and tricks that contribute to healing; and mobility, stability, and strength exercises. All together, I work with each individual to instill efficient movement patterns for pain free living and optimal performance.
My holistic approach to recovery involves finding and treating the root cause of the problem in order to help the body help heal itself. I believe proper manual therapy, coaching, and rehabilitation exercises, when applied in the right situation, can positively influence both recovery and performance!
Coaching high performers and elite athletes striving to get into the best shape of their lives has always been a rewarding job for me. I enjoy the act of getting curious and digging deep to solve the problems holding people back from success. One early morning at 5:30a.m. while driving to open up my gym, half-awake, desperately chugging my coffee, I realized I was chronically running on fumes and was barely making it through each day.
When the weekend finally came and I was out for my Sunday morning run, jamming to my music and soaking up the sun’s morning rays, I thought “wow, this feels amazing, why don’t I start every day off like this”. At that moment it hit me…while trying to prioritize both my business life and my personal life, I wasn’t doing a good job at either of them. Instead, I was yo-yoing between my so-called “priorities” and allowing my own health to decline. I realized that if I didn’t make myself THE priority, then all my other responsibilities would also suffer.
I have since made the big shift to put myself first and start every day focusing on me. This has created a foundation for my business to flourish, my relationships to deepen, and to finally live a life that aligns with my core values. PriorityMe is a way for me to share these breakthrough formulas with others so they too can experience what health can do for them in their lives.
